Face Jug Workshop
10 am-3 pm (Lunch break from 12-1, bring a sack lunch)
“Face Jugs” as an art form were traditionally hand-made objects that were created to drive away evil spirits, later they were adapted to store whiskey. Bootleggers relied on potters to provide them with non-transparent vessels; It was also thought that the ugly faces would scare children and keep them away from the whiskey.
Students will be adding a face to a pre-thrown jug or you can make your own. All supplies included.
Teapots with Expression
In this workshop you will learn to make a unique teapot.
We will guide participants in throwing and altering pots that are equally functional and expressive in form, demonstrating new and interesting techniques. There are many finished pieces on hand to examine and then we will demonstrate the construction process.
